That's My King Podcast and Video

Watch the "That's My King" Video now!
What do you or did you think of the video that Pete played on sunday?
Post your comment now.

Who is He? That was the question that many people asked eachother as Jesus was entering into Jerusalem. Could you answer this question to those that have no clue? We learned Sunday that one of the biggest threats to our relationship with Christ is the devil convincing us that we don't need to think about Christ and who He is. Consider Pilate. In John 18:28-38 Pilate is face to face with Christ and doesn't even take the time to consider the wonderful opportunity that He has to make the best of the situation. Pilate was too busy, too concerned with the circumstances around him that he did not stay long enought to hear Jesus' response to his question of: What is truth? Often, our day is cluttered with so many obligations, distractions, and mindless activities that we can go days without sitting down and being still before our God, to listen to what He has to say. It's hard to be obedient to God's call in Psalm 46: "Be still and know that I am God." We need to make an opportunity for us to just sit and soak in the truth of Christ. Do you know Christ this well, that you can just dwell on who He is and be comforted by knowing him? Watch the video: "That's My King" right above this blog - just sit and listen to the words and consider what it means to you. Happy Easter - The Lord is Risen!!! - Pete

Plugged in?

Are you plugged in? Throughout scripture, we see many depictions of the relationship between Christ and the redeemed: A foundation and the building (1 Corinthians 3:11), the head and the body (1 Corinthians 6:15), the bride and the groom (Romans 7:4). One that sticks out most to me is the illustration of the relationship between the vine and the branches found in John 15:1-8. Here, Christ uses the relationship of the vine and the branches to describe His relationship to his disciples and vice-versa. If we, the branches, abide in Christ, the vine - we will bear fruit. Fruitfullness in our lives brings glory to God and complete joy to us. These are habits that are formed from a "plugged in" relationship with Christ. This past Sunday I used a modern-day illustration of this effect: a power strip! You probably have one in your house. On this power strip are many outlets to plug in any electrical appliance. When things are plugged in to the power strip, they gain power and are able to operate the way they were designed to operate. We are designed to operate under complete dependance on Christ drawing from Him all power and ability to do the tasks that He has assigned to us. The moment we start to think that we can accomplish our tasks and obtain peace in our lives without God, we begin to "unplug" vital areas of our life from God - quickly losing power, motivation, and connection with our Savior. We learned from this passage that Christ is the "True Vine". When we experience anxiety, depression, lonliness, worry, doubt, and frustration - we must first ask ourselves the vital question: AM I PLUGGED IN? Let's go to the direct source rather than trying to fix it ourselves. Christ is our King of Peace, the way, the truth, the life, and the VINE. Get plugged in! - Listen to the podcast and let me know if you have any comments or questions - PETE
