Last Sunday, Oct. 30th, Project Turkey began. Last year we arranged for 50 families to receive a full turkey dinner. We are still hearing of the blessing and love received through this project. In participation with the Angel Tree ministry, we hope to show God's abundant love and compassion by serving another 50 families with a full turkey dinner.

This year it will be organized a little different. Instead of asking for donations of food and money, families will have the opportunity to be more involved in distribution of the turkey dinners. We have 50 boxes displayed in the youth room that need to be filled with a turkey meal according to the family size and distributed to the family the week of thanksgiving. If you and your family would like to participate in this project you can come by the youth to pick up a box. Inside your box, you will have the family's name and address that you will be delivering to, and ingredient list, and an instruction sheet.
We pray that Project Turkey 05 will touch the lives of many families this season.

A message from Catherine The Rock Secretary

Hello Everyone!
I hope you have all had a good week. I wanted to just send a reminder for 5th Quarter tonight. I hope to see you there.
Please be praying for Pete. He has come down with a case of Shingles, which is like adult chicken pox. Because he is a danger to anyone who hasn't had chicken pox or is pregnant, he won't be joining us on Sunday or for 5th Quarter.
This Sunday we will be kicking off our annual Project Turkey. The youth room will be full of plastic bins that need to be "adopted" and filled with Thanksgiving food. We will be encouraging the students to talk to their parents and sponsor a family for Project Turkey. Please talk to your small groups and encourage your family and friends to join us as we reach out to those who need a little holiday cheer and a showing of God's love.
Have a great weekend!

"Unplugged" We had a great time at

"unplugged" on Mt. Lemmon Sunday night. I can never eat more than one s'more though. It was probably 30 degrees cooler up in the mountain (very nice). It's refreshing to get away from the house and spend time with God.I can't help but look up at the stars and just be in awe of how big God really is. So big, and yet he has the patience to know me and love me. A God like that deserves praise and adoration.

So when we're up on the mountain with the fire goin', and the guitar playin', and our friends all around - I pause and just thank God for all that He's done for me.
Earlier in the day, I went to wal-mart and I was stressed b/c I couldn't find a

parking spot in the packed lot. It was hot and I didn't want to walk a football field just to get to the store. Then I looked and saw an open spot way up in the front. The very closest spot to the store in the whole lot! I was pretty stoked and just mumbled to myself "Thanks God, you're so good". Immediately, I senses a reply from God saying, "I'm always good". I felt kinda dumb and realized

that He was right, He's good all the time, not only when I realize it. During "Unplugged" I read from Psalm 34 where David urges his friends to "Glorify the Lord with Him, exalt his name...taste and see that the Lord is good". There are times when we don't realize that God is good b/c something in our life is taking our focus off of Him. But He is always good and it is our chief end to glorify him and enjoy

him forever. By faith, I realize that even in frustrating times, God is good and I should respond with praise!

Cool web sites from Dave and Margie Grinney
Dave and Margie e-mailed me some cool sites for us to visit.
Soon we will have a links section at iRockYouth.com but for now...
check these out! -Ashley
From Dave:
1. Christian Music - This site gives you a lot of information about contemporary Christian music, and gives you a link to KLOVE and AIR 1 on line. (AIR 1 is now on the radio in Tucson as well as KLOVE). You can log onto either site and play Christian music on their computer as they are surfing the net or talking on-line.
www.christianmusicplanet.com
2. Bible Gateway - This is an excellent site with the Bible in all translations. You can search the bible with Topics, or Verses, or words, and get the verse or chapter that it is in.
www.biblegateway.com
3. "Our Daily Bread" Devotional - This is an excellent site for a Daily Devotional with daily Bible reading plus a devotional about the verses. This is one that Margie and I have used for years, and we really enjoy it.
